The Blue Swedish duck is a medium/heavy breed, categorized as “watch” by the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy. They are used mainly for meat, but they can also provide a decent sum of eggs, about 100-150 a year. Blue is the standard color, but black, silver, and splashed also exist. Most birds have a white “bib.” They weigh 7-8 pounds, don’t fly, are good foragers, and are decent to good mothers and broodies.
